About Yellowfin
Yellowfin Jewerly was born from the fusion of three passions of mine: accessories, collecting and crafting. For the first 15 years of my life, I wore small pearls as earrings. A tiny set of pearls were put in at the hospital when I was born and I wore them for 13 years, until I got an upgrade to the next size up. Then one day I took the plunge and started wearing different types of earrings. I became obsessed with hunting down the perfect pair for each outfit I owned. Necklaces and bracelets followed (I was never a huge fan of rings, to this day I don’t even wear my wedding band).
I searched little shops and outdoor markets wherever I went for cheap, original-looking costume jewelry. I have gathered quite a stash! Then one day a few years ago, while walking around the streets in Ibiza, Spain, I came across this awesome, "hole in the wall" shop selling all kinds of beads- beautiful and unique, imported from all over the world. I picked a pair of silver spiral shells from Myanmar and the shop owner created a pair of earrings for me on the spot. I was instantly hooked. From that day, I search for and visit every little bead shop in my path. I spend hours looking at each bead and thinking up what it could become. All the pieces and materials I collect have been subjected to careful scrutiny and imagination.
My vision for Yellowfin is to offer unique and exclusive (I usually make only one or two pieces of every design, never more than five), handcrafted jewelry at an affordable price. I am particularly interested in creating customized designs: the perfect accessory that will go with your perfect outfit.
